11 a.m-5 p.m.
“Life During Wartime” – exhibition of photographs showing everyday life of the inhabitants of North Africa and Near East during World War II. The photographs were taken in 1942-1943 by the Royal Air Force soldiers stationed in Libya, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.

African Galimoto – recycled wire vehicles.
The participants will have an opportunity to construct a Galimoto – a Kenyan recycled material toy. It is a vehicle (car, rickshaw or bike) made of wire, occupied by a figure dressed in colourful clothes. When the wheels are moving, the figure moves its legs.

1 a.m.-3 p.m.

Small discoveries of great significance – glyptic traditions from the Near East and Arabian Peninsula throughout centuries.
The workshop will demonstrate the manufacture of stamp seals inspired by monuments of the Dilmun culture (modern Bahrain, Kuwait), together with stories of how they were invented. The youngest participants (in accordance with the rule of learning by playing) will learn where, when and for what purpose the first seals were manufactured, how this invention spread across the ancient world and what its significance was in everyday life. Each participant will receive a stamp of their design.
